Tie-Dye Tri

NOTE: If you have registered online for the triathlon in the past, you are already in the system and can log in as a member and follow those instructions accordingly. 
If this is your first time to do online registration with us, you will need to create an account as a "Non-Member" or "Community Member" through our website (see link below) before you can register for the triathlon.

The sanctioned event includes a 500-yard indoor swim (snake swim staggered at 15-second intervals), a 12-mile bike ride, and a 5K run.  All proceeds from the event benefit the Strong Communities Campaign and will help provide scholarships for children to attend our summer day camp.

The event starts at 7:30 a.m.  Cost to enter is $45 USAT, and $55 non-USAT.

 

Tie-Dye Tri

Triathletes can look forward to a fun-filled morning, complete with photographers, professional scorekeepers and timers, cool tie-dye t-shirts, a post-race meal, a prize drawing, and fun at the finish line!  We will be cheering the triathletes on every step of the way!!

Race is limited to the first 300 entrants.  Chip timing provided by DG Productions.

A few things you need to know in advance:

  • Check in begins at 6:00 a.m.
  • Enter the YMCA parking lot at Lexington Avenue off of Flood Avenue (this intersection is right by a large water tower).
  • All USAT rules apply to this triathlon.  Visit their website for a complete list of rules.
  • No race-day registrations will be accepted.
  • No refunds will be given.
  • Packet pickup is at check in on race day only.
  • USAT requires each athlete to show photo ID and current USAT membership card or proof of one-day license before they will be given their packet.

Requirements:  All entrants must be 14 years of age by December 31, 2009.  Certified biking helmets MUST be strapped and worn during the race.  All bikes MUST be equipped with handle bar plugs.  No headphones allowed.

Other announcements:

  • A warm-up swim will take place from 6:00-6:30 a.m.
  • Athletes will line up at 7:00 a.m. for the swim portion of the event.
  • Transition check in begins at 5:30 a.m. and closes at 7:15 a.m.
  • ONLY triathletes entered in the race will be allowed in the transition area.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • For safety reasons, please leave your pets at home.
  • Anyone coming to the triathlon AFTER 7:30 a.m. will need to enter at the intersection of Berry and Robinson.
