This program offers children their first experience in the pool without parental assistance. Children are taught basic skills that are the building blocks of swimming. Classes are kept small (one instructor/six participants) to allow for individual attention. Payment is due at registration.
Pike Ages 3 to 5
This beginner-level class helps children develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water and develop independent movement in the water. Students will be taught the basic paddle stroke and kicking skills, pool safety, proper use of IFDs and PFDs, and develop comfort and confidence in the water.
Eels Ages 3 to 5
An intermediate-level class for children who are comfortable in the water. They learn to kick, dive, float, and perform the progressive paddle stroke. They also learn basic boating safety and use PFDs. Kids can swim across the pool by themselves upon successful completion of the class.
Ray Ages 3 to 5
Children in this advanced-level class review previous skills, improve stroke skills, learn personal safety and rescue skills, build endurance by swimming on their front and back, and learn to tread water. Children can swim across the pool on their back and front without assistance upon successful completion of the class.
