Water Fitness Classes

Water fitness classes are included in your membership! Pick up a schedule at the members counter for class times and details. Classes and instructors are subject to change. Classes must have at least two participants within ten minutes of the class start time, or the class will be cancelled on that date.

Except during designated youth classes, children under the age of 12 are not allowed in water fitness classes. Youth ages 12-14 must be accompanied by a parent and fully participating in the class.

Our water fitness program is rated number two in the nation by the United States Water Fitness Association. Instructors are certified through the YMCA of the USA and AEA. Arthritis instructors are certified through the National Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program (AFYAP).


Aquatic Body Conditioning is a shallow water, muscle toning class for all fitness levels using resistance equipment.

Shallow YMCA Aqua Arthritis Program [YAAP]

Based on a program developed by the arthritis foundation for people with various types of arthritis. Class is held in shallow and deep water and participants do not need to know how to swim. A medical release is recommended.

Aqua Kickstep

A high-energy, shallow water class using inertia and buoyancy to create a great aerobic boxing experience. An aqua step bench is used in this class.


Pilates in the water! We are the first Y to offer this class! Build a strong core, and develop strength and flexibility with fluid movement.

Deep Water YMCA Aqua Arthritis Program

A class in deep water which utilizes flotation belts. Exercises are non-weight bearing and help improve range of motion and flexibility. Swim skills are not necessary but participants must be comfortable in the deep water. Medical release is recommended.

Deep Water HIIT Aqua Run/Tabaqua

A high intensity interval training in deep water with aquatic run incorporated utilizing the Tabaqua technique to burn calories.

Deep Water HIIT Muscle  

A high intensity interval training in deep water using muscular strength conditioning and cardio with brief episodes of recovery at set interval times.

Deep Water Exercise

A deep water class which utilizes flotation belts. Aerobically strengthen and tone all muscle groups.

Deep Water Tabaqua

A High Intensity Interval Training class that utilizes the Tabaqua technique to burn calories, increase metabolism and break through your training plateau.


Hydro-Aerobic Rigorous Training is a high-energy, shallow water workout to increase endurance using resistance equipment.


A high intensity, deep water workout.

Interval Training - Deep Water

A cardiovascular workout with brief episodes of recovery at specific stations using resistance equipment.

Interval Training - Shallow

A high energy workout while moving from circuit to circuit and using equipment for added resistance. 


Variable-intensity interval training that unites Mind/Body, Agility, Strength, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) for all fitness levels.


Muscular Strength Conditioning for Lifestyle Enhancement is a deep water class using a flotation belt and Hydro Tone equipment. 

Pre-Natal & Post-Natal

A deep water class designed for pregnancy and postpartum. Guidelines established by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Free class for Y members. Community members may enroll for $40 per month. This class is offered free of charge to TAP participants that are approved by the Center for Children and Families.

Pre-Natal Yoga Fusion - Shallow/Deep Water

A SW/DW class for Pre and Postnatal infusing Yoga moves to maintain and improve health and well being.

Pre-Natal Stretch & Flex - Deep WaterA DW class for all  fitness types using noodles, short cardio bursts, balancing exercise, extended stretches and increased flexibility improving ROM


Water walking in chest deep water. Participants learn techniques to improve balance and endurance.
