Youth Aquatics

Class ratio is one instructor to eight participants. Payment is due at registration.

Polliwog Ages 6 to 14

This beginner-level class gets children acquainted with the pool, the use of flotation devices, and floating. Front and back-paddle strokes will be introduced. Children should be able to swim across the pool upon completion of this class.

Guppy Ages 6 to 14

This intermediate-level class helps students practice and build upon basic skills, now performing more skills without the aid of a flotation device. They are introduced to the front and back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. Students will be able to swim the length of the pool after completing this class.

Minnow Ages 6 to 14

In this intermediate-level class, students further refine the strokes they have learned, as their skills become more like those normally used in swimming. They learn more diving skills, personal safety, boating, and rescue skills.

Fish Ages 6 to 14

For advanced-intermediate and advanced level students. Swimmers work on the crawl stroke, elementary backstroke, back crawl stroke, and sidestroke, with turns. They will work on more complex combinations of strokes and learn additional diving, rescue skills, and boating and personal safety.

Shark Ages 6 to 14

An advanced II class. Students are exposed to a wide range of aquatic experiences. Swimmers will improve strokes, with starts and turns, gaining strength, speed and stamina.

Tiger Sharks Swim Team Ages 6 to 17

Advanced swimming participants improve basic skills and prepare for competitions. They will work on strokes, including practice starts, flip turns, gain endurance, and work as a team. Swim team is a great was to get ready for competition, get in shape, or just have fun! Participants may compete in state wide competitions.

$40 - Y Members; $55 - Community Members

Payment is due at the beginning of every month.

Prep: 5:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday & Thursday

Team: 4:30-6:00 PM, Monday, Wednesday & Friday
