MY ZONE MZ-SWITCH

  • Tracking: What are MEPs & Zones?
Effort over Ability Effort is different for all of us. When we work out, we should be rewarded for what we put in. That is why MyZone invented MyZone Effort Points (MEPs) MEPs are tailored to how hard your heart is working; not to your fitness level. This device will calculate your maximum heart rate (MHR) from the moment you start training. If your MHR changes over time, the MZ-Switch will update automatically to guarantee your data stays personal to you. Get in the Zone During your workout, you will reach different zones based on your heart rate. Each zone is worth a different number of MEPs. The harder you work, the more you earn. Instant feedback tells you when to ease off or step up as you enter each zone. Each of the five zones represent a percentage of your MHR. This is calculated specifically to you when you start training. Grey, Blue, and Green Zones The grey, blue and green zones are best-suited to warm ups, low intensity movements, meditation, flow exercises, strength/conditioning work and cool downs. These zones are also vital to determining your ability to recover during more intense workouts. Red and Yellow Zones The yellow and red zones happen with high intensity physical activity and cardio workouts. Whether you're running, performing plyometric movements, taking a spin class or interval training, pushing yourself into these zones will burn more calories and earn more MEPs.
  • What is MyZone?
Building a socially connected fitness community MyZone brings fun and fair fitness to the YMCA! MyZone offers the MZ-Switch: the world’s first interchangeable heart rate monitor. It can be worn in the gym, outdoors or even in the water. Depending on how you workout, it can also be worn on your arm, chest or wrist. MyZone heart rate monitors are unique. They don’t measure speed, cadence, or weight lifted, they measure the effort you put in with your heart. This means beginners can take on gym bunnies and come out on top. Track your real time heart rate and effort to see your data on screen and move through the zones to earn effort points. MyZone helps you stay connected to your community, no matter where you workout.
